The setting was lovely, with beautiful surroundings perfect for a family getaway. Our room was well-kept and the bathroom was a good size, providing enough hot water for all of us. It was only a short drive to Newstead Abbey, which was a nice bonus for our trip. The only downside was that the towel rail in the bathroom wasn’t working, making it a bit chilly at times.

The size of the room was quite generous, perfect for lounging. Plus, I loved finding those delightful culinary gems nearby—especially the local pubs with their hearty dishes!
The bar area could use a sprucing up. dirty cups were left abandoned on the table. The bed was comfy but creaked more than a haunted house!

Creaky bed disrupted some of the peace. felt like a death star at times. A broken shelf over the sink left things a bit messy, and the duvet cover had noticeable stains—could use a laundry upgrade. The cleanliness in the bar area dropped the overall impression, especially with dirty cups left lying around.

The room was cozy and comfortable, boasting a quaint charm that really helped set a relaxing tone for my stay. A full-length mirror would have been a nice touch for those last-minute adjustments before heading out.
The lack of windows in my room made it feel a bit stifling, even with a fan going, and the double doors leading to the courtyard felt too exposed to leave open overnight. It seemed like a minor oversight that the amenities tray could have included a biscuit or two, and I found the absence of local area information slightly inconvenient for someone unfamiliar with the surroundings. some glasses left uncleaned from previous guests lowered my impression of cleanliness. the experience felt like it could have been better with a bit more attention to detail.

Finding my way around was challenging due to poor signage, compounded by a lack of staff presence upon arrival. The room remained cold for too long, and the heater unexpected heat woke me in the night. the homemade ice cream offered was a delightful touch that added some comfort to the experience. setups like the bathroom facilities and cleanliness could benefit from attention.

Couples looking for peace , this is it
Had a lovely warm welcome from Tim , he made us feel at home right away. The communal fridge was a nice touch, helped us keep drinks cold after a long day.
It wasn’t exactly cheap , but the experience made it worth it.
